The other day while working my contract job photographing newborns at a Twin Cities hospital, the auntie of the newborn I was working with said, “Wow! You have the best job ever! You just get to go around and take pictures of babies?!” I said yes, it’s a pretty sweet job with a big smile on my face. And it is! I love capturing those first photographs for families to have to remember their little one and all of his or her newness.
In addition to photographing newborns, children and families being the “best job ever,” photographing newly-built, custom homes gets that same title, too! Yes, I have the privilege of photographing beautifully-designed, built and staged homes for a couple of builders here in the Twin Cities, and it’s pretty awesome!
One of my favorite parts of a real estate shoot is opening the front door with anticipation of what is behind it. I love that first walk-through, where I get to “ooh” and “aah” over all of the unique finishes, the layout of the home and how it is staged. While I explore each room, I envision how to photograph its details – both large and small – best.
This home was photographed for Moderno Companies, a home builder in the south metro.
