Most of you who know me, know that I walk and run almost daily – wherever I am living or visiting. It seems no matter how many times I’ve been down a street or along a path, I always discover something new. Something to wonder about. Especially with the beautifully-designed homes along Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard in St. Paul. What is the floor plan of this house like? How is it furnished?
Well, when I first moved to St. Paul for college, I distinctly remember running by this house located right near campus. It was being renovated and I was in awe. It was stunning with all of its windows!
Fast forward almost 20 years later, and Cara at Germain Design asked me to photograph an interior design project in. this. house. Yes, please!
Cara planned and executed an extensive interior design update for this house including: paint colors, wall coverings, custom bedding, light fixtures, custom furniture, reupholstering, and several accents. The family is enjoying their new space, and both Cara and the family are thrilled with the project! And I, too, was thrilled to have the opportunity to see inside and photograph one of these historic homes!
This might be one of my favorite spaces in the house. Light, bright and cheery!
Texture. It often gets overlooked in furniture case pieces. But check out the texture on these nightstands!
This “nook” is fabulous and features built-in shelves on one end and a custom-upholstered mattress. I would definitely enjoy curling up with a book in this space, looking out over the river!
One of the highlights of this project for Cara was all of the custom bedding. Look at these details!
Look at the beautifully-coordinated texture and pattern in the headboard and wallpaper! Love it!
